The Story

Landscape photographers are supposed to have an opinion about film versus digital. Tatsuto Shibata never picked a side, and has spent most of his career driving across Japan trying to settle the argument one frame at a time. For episode two of Through The Lens, we sent him out with only the OnePlus 12 — no backup body, no second opinion, no escape hatch — and let the landscape do the talking. Somewhere between the mountains and the coast, the debate quietly lost the will to live.
